Built in 1924, the wooden station building resembles a palace. See the typical Taisho-era architectural style in the elegant hexagonal office. It was used as a gateway to Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine until the Taisha Line closed in 1990. It is a designated important national cultural asset and is considered one of the most beautiful existing wooden station buildings.
