The park is located in Shobara, which boasts a myriad of flowers and peaceful rural scenery. In spring the area turns pink. Listed as one of Japan’s hundred most beautiful cherry blossom sites, the park attracts visitors from far and wide. There are 600 trees around the pond, and Ueno Park Cherry Festival takes place in April. At night the reflection in the pond of the lanterns hanging from the trees is fabulous.
