Kibitsu-hiko-no-mikoto and Ura are dedicated to Kibitsu-jinja Shrine, one of the most important shrines in the Sanyo area. The main hall with unique architectural style and Hiyoku-irimoya style roof is designated as a national treasure. The breathtaking 398 meter long corridor is more than 400 years old. It is also famous for Narukamashinji, a special shrine ritual wherein Kanaedono’s iron kettle is rung to predict good or bad luck. Legend has it that the head of the demon, Ura, slain by the shrine’s saint, Kibitsuhiko, is buried inder the Kanaedono and he groans to divine the future.
