The production of Kurayoshi kasuri (indigo dyed textile with splashed patterns) was promoted by Daisuke Inashima during the late Edo era (19th century). A high level of experience and skill are required to make these complicated patterns. Some of them look like real paintings, so they are described as “fantasy textiles”. Visitors can also look at the weaving process (free of charge) and purchase noren (Japanese curtain) and bags.
