It is said that the deity of the shrine was separated from Taikodani-inari Shrine in Tsuwano in 1955 after receiving a divine message from a white fox. There are 123 Shinto gates in line coming up from the cliff top. The view is impressive and the power of the waves sometimes sends plumes of spray up over the nearby cliff.
