The gorge, through which runs the Abu River, starts in Ato, Yamaguchi, and ends in Kawakami, Hagi, is renown as a great place to see autumn colors. The walking on the 5.5-km hiking trail along the river is easy. The many walkers delight in the change of scenery at every step.
