The hot spring is famous for the legend that long ago at a temple, a white fox healed its injury after soaking the affected part in a hot spring the animal discovered by digging a pond. White fox statues which can be seen here and there in the hot spring town are associated with the story. Especially an eight-meters tall fox monument named Yuta amazes us with its size.
