The shop, which was renovated from a 100 year old townhouse, is located on the hill of Miyajima. They serve food and drink and sell oyster products like marinated oysters created by the restaurant “Kakiya”, which hopes that tourists from all over the world can learn about the good local products. They sell some original products made of local oysters and drinks and sweets made from lemons grown on nearby Setoda Island. All the oysters are harvested near the island and carefully chosen. Sixty to seventy kinds of drinks from wine to whisky which go well with oysters are served in impeccably polished glasses. You can spend a really relaxing time there. The sliding glass door which separates the dining and the terrace gives you a comfortable open feeling, even though you are inside. The terrace has no fences, so you can feel as if you are a part of whole landscape of Miyajima.
