The shrine is registered as a national treasure due to being Japan’s oldest Shinto shrine structure and also is the largest wooden Shinto building. It is also known for the god who builds en relationships, so visitors, including lots of young women come from all over Japan, wishing that they can be blessed with good relationships of family, lovers, friends and jobs.
It is said that the deities who are believed to reside all over Japan assemble at the shrine in the tenth month of the lunar calendar.
