Mushiokuri (lit. insect repellent) event was held all over the nation in olden days with people’s wish for a good harvest. However, as agricultural chemicals have been spreading, the traditional practices have been fading. The event of Kanekobara which is held on July 20th every year still retains unchanged. It was registered as a Prefectural Intangible Cultural Asset in May of 1967, as it can’t be seen in other places these days.
